Blogmas Day 8: How Wow Pow Chow (12/01-12/07)

Well folks, we’ve made it through a whole week of this series without skipping a single day. It’s still a tad early in the series, but this year’s Blogmas looks more promising in terms of actually making it through the entire 25 days. As you’re reading this, I’ll be in LA at a comedy show, so you’re getting this post a tad earlier than I usually post (yay!). To wrap up this week, here’s another How Wow Pow Chow.

How has God been working in your life this week?

Just a couple days ago, I was really leaning into the sound of God’s voice, trying to figure out what He may have been trying to tell me during this otherwise uneventful week. Then, right after I posted the blog about my hair, where I briefly talked about some struggles I’ve had about my previous job, I got a text message from my former boss trying to reconnect with me. This conversation led me to realize that I haven’t fully forgiven her or some of my other coworkers for the hurt they caused me last year, no matter how much I’ve tried to convince myself that I did. Upon getting these messages, I heard the Lord’s message loud and clear, that forgiveness is something I need to work on in order to find true peace and contentment. It was yet another eye opening experience, and something I’m going to keep relentlessly working on.

What is something great that has happened this week?

This week, I finally buckled down and began working on graduate school applications. I’ve been putting it off for the longest time for a few reasons: 1. The deadline to apply for the Fall semester isn’t until next year, so I have a few months to gather all of the materials I need, and 2. There are quite a few components to each school that I’ll be applying to, and I haven’t been sure if I was completely ready to fully make that plunge. Yesterday, I finally made the move to gather my GRE scores, contact a few people for letters of recommendation, and ordered several copies of my transcript. Finally starting the application process is making me really excited and giddy for this next chapter in my life.

What is something that happened this week that wasn’t so great?

As Mondays typically go, this past Monday wasn’t the best work day. We had several issues with our gift processing procedures, and it felt like some of our counterparts from different departments kept dropping the ball. All of those issues have been resolved though, and given that the only issues I’ve had this week were work related, I would say it’s been a pretty solid week.

Any notable foods you ate this week?

On Tuesday, one of my coworkers bought a dozen bagels for our office to compensate for the awful work day we had the day before. It immediately brought the vibe of the week back up, and I’ve had bagels for breakfast everyday this week.
